Another exciting week has just finished. From the 16 to the 23 July, we host a training course activity: Boost up: Improving competencies of youth workers for social inclusion.


Boost up: Improving competencies of youth workers for social inclusion is a training course (KA1) co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission who takes from the 16 to the 23 July 2021 at Pianezza, Italy to offer youth workers knowledge and skills to work in the youth field for the social inclusion of people with disabilities in order to give them the opportunity to involve more in society and interact with each other despite their disabilities.


The project involved 21 youth workers, 3 accompanying persons,s and 3 trainers from Italy, Greece, Spain, Luxembourg, France, Poland, and Slovenia; over the age of 18.

Among the 3 trainers involved in the training course, 1 of them was a person with disabilities.


The objectives of the project were:

  1. Give participants the opportunity to acquire the right terminology in the field of disabilities in order to work correctly with the final target group;

  2. Know EU legislation on people with disabilities;

  3. Explain disabilities from different perspectives, depending on the type of disability and communication methods;

  4. Let participants share their countries' experiences of disability, push factors, and attraction;

  5. Shed light on the treatment of people with disabilities based on their difficulties in order to explain the reasons behind these treatments;

  6. Understand that people with disabilities are not only looking for help but individuals who can provide and improve their environment;

  7. Discover different non-formal education approaches in order to support young people to effectively use non-formal education in local contexts for the integration of people with disabilities;

  8. Learn international signs in order to communicate with S/deaf people;

  9. Promotion of social inclusion
